Dr. Debra Wickman, MD, FACOG, Gynecologist
I am excited to be part of the SHE Sexual Health Experts experience. I am able to offer our guests a comprehensive, integrative, mind-body approach toward improving their sexual function. The SHE model allows me to spend more time, perform a more in-depth assessment, and provide a more detailed discussion of treatment options than was ever possible within the traditional general gynecology setting.
After several years of private practice in obstetrics and gynecology, she went to University of California, Los Angeles to complete a year-long postgraduate fellowship in Female Sexual Medicine. She spent the year doing research projects in the Female Sexual Medicine Center, providing patient care, and presenting research findings at several national meetings. She then went back to University of Washington as a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she enjoyed training resident physicians and medical students, and seeing patients in her private clinic. Dr. Wickman and her family decided to return to the Phoenix area, where she has been working for the past five years.
Dr. Wickman is excited about the study of menopause, and is actively involved with the North American Menopause Society. She is a certified menopause practitioner since 2003, and regularly attends the annual meeting. She is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
She is experienced in prescribing bioidentical hormone therapy, and treating problems related to aging, menopause and sexual dysfunction. She is committed to helping women sort through the many issues they face, providing up to date information, and working together to reach the best possible solution that meets their individual needs. Dr. Wickman enjoyed the years of delivering babies, but now is completely focused on womens sexual health and the challenges women face as they progress into the next phase of life.
